Dear Kathy,

Once upon a time you and I took off our shoes in the shadow of Fuji-san and curled our toes in the sun-warmed grass. A little girl ran up to you and handed you a paper crane, giggling as she ran off again. Intrigued, you learned the story of the thousand cranes and swore that you would do it yourself, to make your heart's desire come true. Unbeknownst to you I also decided to fold my own thousand cranes. I have 999 so far. Will you fold the last one for me? Surely you remember how.
